Restaurateurs Bill McCormick and Doug Schmick opened their first restaurant, aptly named after themselves in Portland, OH. McCormick & Schmick’s acquired and renovated their first store to rave reviews and since then the restaurant has grown from strength to strength. There are now nearly 100 restaurants worldwide, six of which operate under the name The Boathouse located in Canada. McCormick & Schmick’s has approximately 8,000 employees worldwide.
