    This error has nothing to do with piracy – it happens when windows files are corrupt, irrespective of the virus guard you use – so you’re not hacked! It is perfectly normal.     I agree – it it’s not genuine, the error will occur and it prevents people from using cheap grey market windows or fake windows.
    Apple does not have these issues though.
    Would it be in China or India where they make the grey version of Windows, I’m curious?

    If it says that it is not a genuine version of either Windows7 or 8, then that’s what it is. Avoiding piracy issues is a great step for Windows to take. If you really have the correct version and this is a genuine error – head back down the computer shop and let them fix it, it will only take 5 minutes to sort out.
