Internship/ Co-Op Opportunities

Since 2001, the company connects students with best practices and challenging Co-op positions that offer the opportunity to work with some of the most experienced and talented individuals in the industry. They have hired interns located in countries around the world, such as the United Kingdom, Taiwan, India, Israel, Singapore, China, Canada and United States. All our branches headquarters have interns from a variety of backgrounds with diverse representation in degrees, specializations and cultural experiences.

The company’s internship/Co-Op Program is paid, full-time (40 hours) or part-time jobs (without any guarantee of employment continued throughout the academic school year or full-time employment after graduation).  Their talent management group attends to business units and their departments to provide formalized intern programs to assimilate the interns to the company’s common practices and skills necessary to meet the Co-op or internship requirements.

Program requirements

The intern program consists of students who are currently pursuing the career of BS, MS or PhD from an accredited university or school. They also have opportunities for students for finance, international business, legal and MBA. Students can use their experience working in Broadcom to acquire skills for their major, dependent on class schedule and work authorization restrictions, if any. Duration of the internship is usually located at the beginning of the assignment and can be extended or shortened based on the needs of the company. The interns are allowed to work during the academic year, until they complete their degree program. Interns usually work part-time (20 hours per week) during the school year and can work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer and during extended holiday periods.

Co-ops are students currently enrolled in their college or universities co-op program, while pursuing a BS degree, business, Legal, MS, MBA or doctorate. These students are required to apply classroom knowledge to real work situations to gain practical work experience and an understanding of the corporate culture and expectations. Students Co-op tend to be full-time (40 hours per week) and vary depending on the availability of the program co-op and university students. Co-op Allocations generally alternate academic terms, until the student completes the master’s program.

Mini-workouts and speaker series, such as presentation skills, communication skills, influence skills, project management, business writing, time management, financial acumen, networking and problem solving.

Health care benefits

The company provides comprehensive medical coverage for you, your domestic partner, your spouse, and your children. The children can stay covered up to 26 years for medical and up to 19 years in dental and vision; unless a full-time student and coverage goes up to 26 years. In addition to an excellent PPO plan through Aetna, employees in the majority of the locations may also elect HMO coverage from Aetna and, in California, employees can choose HMO coverage through Kaiser Permanente.

The HMO and PPO plans through BlueCross BlueShield of Massachusetts are also offered to those who reside in various states of New England. Their Aetna PPO dental plan provides a comprehensive coverage and the freedom to select the dental provider of your choice. Covered at 100%, are preventive dental services, with no deductible when you use a provider within the network. They provide orthodontic services for children and adults.

Vision care

Benefits of the company include coverage for the integral vision through Vision Service Plan (VSP), the largest provider of the nation of coverage of eye care. VSP Coverage helps pay for frames, lenses and eye exams.
